Registration is now closed.

In Manannán and Beyond we will explore the lord of the sea and the otherworld in His many manifestations in myth, folklore and the landscape.

Topics will include:
  • Manannán as a wise counsellor
  • His importance in the Isle of Man
  • Whether we should really call Him a 'trickster'
  • Manawydan fab Llŷr
  • His children and foster-children
  • The lands of Manaw in Scotland
  • Manannán in the otherworld
Although we will be looking at excerpts from many texts in class, some reading of full stories will be necessary in your own time. All the reading can be accessed online, so there are no books to buy. A reading list with links will be available a week or two before the class begins.
